It is something that’s really really really hard to go all “it was a different time” and “it’s fine, everyone did it” about. It’s just too fucked up.

This excuse would be plausible except for one thing. You claim to have a direct line to a supreme being who tells you right from wrong. You think they’d drop a hint about not shagging kids.

Unless you talk to a certain KIND of religious person, then they see absolutely nothing wrong with it “because it’s in the holy book” therefore it’s okay in modern times too.

That’s one set of emails and calls to CPS I won’t ever lose sleep over.

To be fair it really was a different time where raping your female-human cattle was perceived as a mans natural right and normal.

That we used to be savages and rape anyone is not as fucked up as it is simply a brutal part of nature, bonobos, sea lions and African lions to name a few that rape their own offspring

But like i said. It WAS a different time for humans, we have come a long way since. That some of us modern human beings can think about those savages and then decide to idolize them like they where the epitome of perfection… Thats is actually completely fucked up and sick.

It’s supposed to mean this is in poor taste haha. With the nutcases on some of these instances though I think sarcasm has died. No opinion is too messed up to not be taken seriously anymore.

I’m genuinely curious; given the historical basis upon which this spicy meme is founded, why would it be racist? Nobody is saying anything about race or religion, it’s specifically calling out one man, revered by billions, who married a child.

I think they might’ve though Muhammad was used to just refer to Muslims in a general way instead of the prophet Muhammad.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind as well. “Muhammad” in it’s various different spellings IS the most popular name in the world after all. Still though, it’d be weird for anyone to claim that all people named Muhammad are ALL interested in 9 year olds named Aisha

It’s not racist to point out a person did something wrong.

If you only do that for a specific race, that’s racist.

Nobody is suggesting that. It’s not talking about some random Muslim person, it’s talking about the prophet Muhammad and what he historically did.

Little is known about her childhood. A preponderance of classical sources converge on Aisha being 6 or 7 years old at the time of her marriage, and 9 at the consummation; her age has been a source of ideological friction.

It’s not racist to point out that one very specific person committed a horrible crime they did in fact commit

It would be racist to conclude from this that other persons of the same ethnicity are also criminal, which no one is doing here

A moral, ethical and human violation, not a crime*

At least I don’t think it was a crime at the time/place. Maybe it was… any historians around?

If you want to commit heinous crimes, create a religion and gather millions of followers. Anyone who dares to criticize you will immediately become a “bigot”.
