Data is a natural resource, a bit between the radio spectrum and mineral rights.
Some data should be available to everybody for free as a benefit to society, like how part of the RF spectrum is available for short range radios.
Weather data is one of these things because it helps everyone from pilots to farmers to kids wishing for a snow day.
Nobody should own the weather.
private entities mostly use noaa data and forecasts. they just pretty it up before broadcast or publication.
I get my weather forecast (and history) directly from them. Their website on my desktop and an app on my android. Why mess with the others when the best is available for free?
App name?
Looking for it I see many other apps source data from NOAA.
Gotcha, I have found that breezy weather is really good, private, and also uses noaa data directly as well as some others, plus there is no adds or tracking with it.
