the IOC reserves the right to decide about the participation of individual neutral athletes with a Russian passport in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 at the appropriate time.

So this actually means little to nothing.

Why does that mean nothing? Putin can’t send those athletes to compete under his flag. And considering his patriotism, he might not wanna do it then.

Sounds like a good thing to me. Either he has a hard time attributing any win to his country, or his country is in timeout. That’s about what I want to expect from IOC.

Athletes from Russia will get as much coverage, if not more, if they are allowed to compete as neutrals.

Ukrainian Athletes have refused to compete against Russians, no matter what flag they are under. So Russian neutrals compete in the events of Ukrainian Athletes and they do not.

I do not care about the Russian Athletes, Sport has always been political. Sth Africa was cut off from world sport during the Apartheid years.
