    It’s 2023 and even after 300 million copies sold, Mojang still doesn’t have the resources to do more than one new mob every year.

    Guess we better send them more money!

      They’re adding more mobs than just the mob vote mobs though. The next update has at least another hostile mob with a unique structure and new blocks and mechanics. And they don’t want to overcrowd the game with just a lot of mobs because they want to support the game for 50 years. If they add twenty mobs a year the game is going to be oversaturated very quickly. They want to add mobs that tie into the game’s systems in unique ways instead of just churning out mobs.

      Accusing Mojang of greed is so fucking weird, Java Edition - the one that Mojang develops - is a one-time purchase with non-conditional lifetime updates. I bought the game for €5, 13 years ago(!) and they’re still updating it.
