I’d really love for these types to explain why dems being anti-genocide was a bridge too far, despite it being the thing that would’ve won them the election by their logic and, y’know, being the morally correct position.

There is something sinister about how it is an accepted argument against any invocation of morality and an ethical framework that such is the purview of whites.
You see it in vegan/vegetarian discourse a lot, where its just assumed only white people can be opposed to animal cruelty in spite of all evidence. Black people in the US being more likely to be vegan simply does not matter to the assumption that only white people can care (And of course the assumption is always that all interlocutors are American), even when black people manifestly are more willing to take a moral stand, they are assumed to not be moral actors.

Don’t get me wrong, the logic on display here is foul, but I don’t buy into the idea that standing by and letting an evil thing, that you could prevent with a completely infinitesimal effort, happen, is meaningfully “better” than doing it yourself.
If option A is “victim on main line, subject fails to pull lever” and option B is “victim on branch line, subject pulls lever” I don’t think subject B is any different from subject A, both of them bear full moral culpability.
