The Asus BT8 is a wifi 7 router supported by openWRT and there is quite a few of us running it. I think generally OpenWRT is a good way to go and the Table of Hardware on the OpenWRT site will give you a dizzying array of options for wifi 6 and 7 devices that are supported and you get to pick your spec and price from those available.

You might need the modem device if you are using cable, otherwise its FTTH or DSL then you wont.

If you search for OpenWRT tutorials on youtube you will find a McFly or something like that name and he has a bunch of tutorials on how to set up OpenWRT and a range of more advanced networking topics and how to use OpenWRT to utilise them.

Shreddit still exists as a docker image and can go about saving a scrambled version before it deletes, but in practice it doesn’t seem to work. They disappear from your account and you can no longer see them but if you search for your username on Google etc you can still get to the comments, so they are still available for search engines and AI. There is no way to remove the comments on Reddit, you can just choose to hide them from yourself!

They have been using the minimum estimate for CO2 impact on heating since the 1970s. The level of pollution in the air has been hiding the true impact and as the various causes of pollution are removed the earth energy balance is changing such that it turns out that the highest end of the CO2 impact is actually correct, which doubles the heating effect. There has been about a third of climate scientists who have been warning about this but they have consistently been called the extremists or the doomers and they have been right all along. They were always right, the evidence was based on actual experiments of the impact of CO2 and not by measuring the planet.

I bought physical disks until they were basically phased out. A large chunk of them just registered on Steam and downloaded the latest patch before they would run anyway. I have been against Steam and its DRM for a while, but everyone else chose to have no rights to their games, no ability to sell or loan them or give them to others. You will own nothing and love it.

Once you have enough money to buy anything you want it looses value, now its the things that you can’t buy that are worth having, those are the things you can show off to your other ridiculously wealthy friends.
