I really like this idea, and it sounds like fun, but I can’t help but be incredibly concerned with sharing PII on Lemmy.

I wouldn’t want to put my home address anywhere in Lemmy, nor would I want to post it anywhere else online or share it with any Lemmy users (no offense). Lemmy is not very secure, even direct messages. So I personally won’t be entering, or if I do then I would disqualify myself from the get-go from 1st place.

Ah, so it seems about the same as the R36S I have already. I would prefer something more pocketable, but at the price its hard to consider compared to what I already had. If the performance was a bit better it might have been more enticing. I wouldnt ever expect GameCube or PS2 games or anything, but I think N64 and Saturn shouldn’t be so difficult on devices of this from factor and price.

Whats the most intensive system this can play well? I am assuming all 2D stuff probably works fine, but how is N64, PSX, Dreamcast, and PSP? I don’t expect anything newer than that to do too well, and PSP might be too much for it as well.

Businesses do not care about any of that. They don’t even care if it has been out of production since 1952. If they own it and you upload it, they are absolutely looking for a way to get money from you. All the money.

Wait, so two subsequent lead developers got caught allegedly doing illegal stuff (with actual evidence and matching police reports I am assuming, because I won’t read the article on that site), so now everyone else who liked the mod or worked on it are being punished for it?

Just get a new lead developer from the other developers already working on the mod and carry on. Its not the mod’s fault the former lead devs did what they allegedly (I can only assume since I have not seen any evidence) did.

I don’t really care about achievements in general, personally. I play the game normally and if I get them, whatever, if I don’t, whatever. It doesn’t change my enjoyment of a game either positively or negatively.

I come from a Gamer generation when the only achievements you got were telling your friends that you reached the end screen and beat/defended the high score. So I don’t really care either way. I don’t change how I play to specifically get achievements, but I don’t go out of my way to avoid them either.

Seeing behind the curtain doesn’t bother me. Actually, I almost prefer when it happens because I can usually guess how something will go before I waste more time on it if I won’t like it.

The Guardian had to make up for their last article with an absolutely horrendous take, so now they put out a nothing burger word salad that is totally meaningless hoping people forget lol.

Also, shame about the last Metroid game. A peak example of what not to do. The games best parts were when it was copying from the games that came before, absolutely zero new content was even mediocre it was just straight up bad. Total waste of time and development budget.

Its not really much different safety-wise than the airbag recalls Toyota and others had. Maybe the airbag issue was worse considering it could have effected more people than this one, as you point out the recalled belts being in the second row are usually less used in trucks than something like a sedan.

Wonder if this is compatible with the original versions of the game, or if it is only compatible with the recent re-releases.

Its also a very hyper specific hex code of red, and any minor difference even a single hex digit difference is enough to not infringe, unless it is in combination with other marks they have.

They dont have just “red,” its like they have exactly #FF0A0A or whatever.

Business colors are very specific and deviate from other types of protection marks like that, for good reason. They need the extra “resolution.” (IYKYK)

Playing Episode 1 Racer captivated exactly the feeling it needed to. It made you feel like you were barely in control of this hyper hotrod dragster that was trying ro rip itself apart at every moment. The controls were loose enough to make that fantasy believable, while still being tight enough to not be overly frustrating. The development team did a really good job with it.

Must be a pain to go into or out of buildings and cars.

In fairness, it is completely fictional. So it doesn’t really require much thought. Just decide whatever is coolest and go with it.

The Japanese one may be completely different and not have this text at all, or they may have used katakana to indicate an English loan-word for “wretched,” which when translated back into English could translate to “Retched” if it is treated like a proper noun and the translator is dull or doesn’t have the full context.

Its possible they meant “vomited souls,” or that the translation of what was given to them translated to that*, but it is much more plausible that they made a spelling mistake.

*It is common in Japanese media to depict a person’s “soul” leaving their body through the mouth, thus “vomited soul” may be correct depending on the original material provided, if this box art text was written originally in Japanese before being translated or sent for English box printing.
