And it was powered by Linus Torvalds!
I don’t think the Mediaworkstations a-X2P ever came out of “limited production”, but with an EPYC processor, desktop GPU and 6 screens it still meets the mark IMO.
[Edit]: Sorry, a pair of EPYC processors. And it’s a shipping product.

artifex@lemmy.zipto science@lemmy.world•People with social anxiety disorder have a different gut microbiome - transplanting their microbiome to mice causes the mice to suffer from increased social fearEnglish21·2 天前Yes technically, but… I was gonna say “how would you even act on that?” but decided I’d prefer not to know.
artifex@lemmy.zipto Announcements@lemmy.zip•Announcing: Piefed.zip - our new Piefed instance!English6·2 天前Oh, yeah, this is not a knock against the admins at all. The .zip team might have an amazing set of contingency plans, etc - I have no idea - which would make this more or less a moot point. I’m just not a fan of single points of failure.
artifex@lemmy.zipto Announcements@lemmy.zip•Announcing: Piefed.zip - our new Piefed instance!English12·2 天前Since this is tagged on lemmy.zip I’d like to point out that it might not be the best idea for existing lemmy.zip users to also use piefed.zip since if the admin(s) are no longer able to continue both of your presences would go down. In the true spirit of the fediverse it makes sense to spread your logins around.
That seems like a steal. The cpu is very capable and there’s plenty of RAM. And it’s a thinkpad…

It and similar pathways have been used in many branches of science for decades. I think the novelty here is just that it’s in a consumer product instead.
yeah I think I’d cook more fun stuff too if I didn’t have to clean up afterward. 😂
Did he clean up afterwards? That seems to be the part my kids struggle with.

artifex@lemmy.zipto Economics@lemmy.ml•Analysis by CSIS makes it clear that restricting ethane exports is a desperate measure that "inflict more damage on U.S. companies than Chinese competitors"5·5 天前While China adjusts its feedstock mix at limited cost to its petrochemical industry, U.S. producers are facing more significant supply chain disruptions. Not only are these disruptions entirely of Washington’s own making, but they could have been anticipated by anyone with a basic understanding of ethane production.
🤡
I give you a lot of credit. I got about 3 paragraphs in (which was the amount I deemed necessary and sufficient enough to judge the quality of the whole) and bailed.
Which is especially annoying since it does touch on something interesting and human and ephemeral.
The dollar was fully decoupled from the gold standard in 1971. I think this is just a slightly delayed reaction to that.
