  • We will be dealing with a delayed conflict, for which Ukraine and Europe will prepare with the utmost seriousness. Its start will most likely be timed to coincide with the transition of power in Russia and Belarus in 10-15 years. By that time, Europe’s military industry will have gained the momentum necessary for a new phase of the conflict. And in the US, other politicians may come to power.

Meh I do not care for this type of up in your own ass analysis from these chuds, none of these chuds were sitting here in 2008 saying there would be a war in 15 years, specialy given just how invested Russia and Putin were in the west in the 2000s, fuck sakes Putin literaly shaking hands with Bush after 9/11.

These people are clueless and they only see the nationalist angle. Who cares about the next Russian “leadership” when a significant(more than half?) of their shit oligarchs are still very much pro-western or pro-neoliberal pro whatever it takes to keep things the same i.e them making money, perpetual anti-“liberal” shit perpetual nationalist shit. Putin didn’t change this neither will his successor either way.

Its amazing how nationalists still believe they’re at the center of the world. It should be obvious the next few wars will be elsewhere, yet they sit here pandering some great buildup plan for some great war between EU and Russia. Just silly, like how can then not see Ukraine just simply isn’t important, wasn’t the vastly different level of support to Israel already proof enough?

  • Not American invasion, the previous controversy in Brazil was Brazil’s own plan for an invasion “backed” by the US, politicaly with an international green light.

Now whether Brazil would suceed is unlikely, there is no popular support, even among the right. Brazilians don’t view their military particularly highly as a consequence of the military dictatorship.

Nevertheless, it bears reminding the only reason Bolsonaro’s coup failed at all was the Biden admin didn’t support it. If the US once again forces another coup it will succeed and if it is then followed by such an invasion as early as 18 months from now(Brazilian elections next year) then it will happen almost assuredly.

The only question behind all these silly speculations is nobody around Trump is particularly competent and imo Trump is more about easy cheap and quick wins he can pander to his base, South America is not a victory he can pander because none of these countries are relevant and besides when it comes to the “latino” problem he is already doing the ICE camps anyway.

  • I don`t particularly care about the user banned(z) but if it was over Israel cool than fuck that. Burn this shit ass flag, unban them and whoever is still doing liberal pearl clutching over the flag needs a reality check.

The best time for Israel cool was 2 years ago, the second best time is today.

Norman Finkelstein has been correct on this, despite his boomer ass edge issues, on the issue of Zionists who know exactly what they are doing, conflating zionism with anti-semitism was always the point and they don’t care about the consequences. If you cede ground they`ll try to take everything. There is no compromise. He is even correct, its no longer just Zionism but a form of “Jewish supremacy” when you look at how the billionaire rich Zionists just fucked the student protests and the universities. The anti-zionism fear already far exceeds identity politics, even the liberals were not able to oppose or object to it is the point, there was not even a speed bump, it was just a demolition truck.

Zionists? Not even, just crocodile tears supremacists who know what they`re doing because unfortunately if one day there is real antisemitism they wont have to face it, they’re rich, powerful and already integrated into the western circles of power.

The point here is someone like Norm is willing to call this out already for quite some time and the left is still tripping over themselves regarding a shitty ass flag that is now akin to a swastika. Who gives a shit about the crocodile tears.

Sad that it took the equivalent of Titanic hitting an icerberg(the news) to bring this change but this was always a cowardly position, change now is better than never.

  • Will they just insist that because half a dozen Chinese whitewater craft were sunk, it means that the US won the battle even though they lost 3-4 aircraft carriers in the process?

There is just no way the US can lose 4 carriers and not use a nuke in response, maybe they’ll target something in the Chinese western desert areas, let them know in advance, so the US can save face and China can choose to avoid total annihilation. Losing 1 carrier is something I can see the US accepting depending on the Chinese relative cost, chalk it up to US navy incompetence, I used to think Americans would lose their minds even losing just 1 but these days after Trump’s shit I’m not even sure patriotism is as high as it used to be.

Beyond that it gets wildly unrealistic and honestly unhealthy to fantasize. Like how China will only lose half a dozen ships, it implies a level of military superiority that doesn’t match reality.

Likewise China got only 2 carriers, maybe 1 more by war time, the US can “easily” do a hail mary to destroy both of them if they have to and call it even. If that happens then China can win the war(easily) still but the propaganda war will continue just fine.

Of course China is still a very large favorite to win, with numerous advantages, but what is the point of fantasy scenarios like this?

  • I don’t get what is the bad or wrong part of his take here, except maybe slightly cringe to “entrust his copyright” to a big publisher, that itself is a can of worms.

But there is no solution either, its either we achieve complete radical destruction of everything AI related(having this bubble burst soon would also work but that is just a bet) or some shitty ass compromise, there is no middle ground. He is also correct, every AI art advocate is definitely just looking to shortcut his way towards social acceptance at best or are just outright scammers and grifters looking to make their “big project” aka passive income garbage small business dream shit come true. They don’t care to understand that artists choose to be creative because they inherently enjoy the process. If just making art doesn’t make you happy then its not for you, pick another hobby or interest.

So again when it comes to the law take, nobody got any better solutions, the Chinese AI grifters(hopium abusers at best) say the same thing, oh its Chinese therefore magicaly the CPC will have more control i.e better laws even though it doesn’t stop Chinese tech industry from their own harmful practices e.g all the gambling and shit on mobile games is the most profitable industry.

Nobody got a better take on AI, IMO the lines are clear and its just sad we will most likely lose this fight to these shitty grifters unless we’re lucky and the bubble bursts soon. Whoever called him a lib is clueless, naive maybe, to hope the current status quo will solve it, but its either that or complete violent opposition to AI, he can’t obviously advocate for that.

  • I watched some of that stream, rare L imo, I made it to one time where he literaly calls himself a “progressive zionist”(50:10), gets a chuckle from Hasan himself as he rolls eyes.

I want to be generous and say I wonder if he was truly not prepared for this guys takes or he just didn’t expect this guy to be so upfront about it, it was pretty embarassing and he knew immediately as the guest said it.

Hasan is well read so he knows all the anti-zionist talking points so he can push back, but when the guy starts doing literaly “but what about the communists, we should be honest about the communists, hey Hasan are you not a communist why don’t you condemn Hamas Stalin?” shit he should’ve have pressed that. What about it? What communists? What have they done? And depending on the response end the stream right there. Would have been far, far better for him, more views, engagement, drama etc than continue the interview.

But again I think he wasn’t prepared for this guy to be so openly apologetic, I doubt he ever considered the possibility of cutting off a guest early, someone vetted in advance and judged to be “ok”.

Its a rare L but a massive one too, he should own up to it. He knew it was bad, his reaction tells as much how uncomfortable it was right away. Buts its all meaningless if you’re deer in a headlight moment can’t go off script lets just “debate” liberal zionism again.

  • It’s a bubble now for sure but so was the web in 2000. Like the dotcom bust I am sure we will see some genuinely transformative tech and companies emerge from this.

You forget we’re not in still in the year 2000, I mean the point is the massive investment into these data centers, along with the necessary energy requirements and investments, the continued fueling of NVIDIA’s bubble itself which relies on stable US-China-Taiwan relations is a ticking bomb. There wont be any good tech that outweights the harm being done to get there. Might as well believe Google is OK because their search engine was better. Look where Google search is today, it took barely them a decade to destroy it.

This is the second point, the “rate of enshitification” is arguably increasing as well. It wont take these companies even 10 or 15 years to destroy their own business, just look at the current power struggle between SAS providers and these model owners.

This will only get worse, these AI providers will keep fighting to somehow start to get money from somewhere and that will already lead to less features and access for more money.

At the end of the day, assume even the best case scenario, who gives a single fuck about “good AI” when that might cost 15-50$ a month or be fucked with unstoppable ads or 10 different tiers or whatever nonsense. The industry is already fucked because there is no path towards a useful product.

Circle back to the web in 2000, and the first principle of its success. The internet was entirely free and open to navigation from everywhere in the world. As long as you got internet access. That is the first issue. It wasn’t realy until the smartphone era and good high speed mobile service that the internet got popular in the 2000s for the majority of the world.

Now go back to 2000 and say to yourself the internet will be a success, except you’ll need to pay 20 different service providers and monthly fees, advertising will be almost unavoidable and btw each provider only gives you like 10% of the internet, the other 90% is locked behind some other provider and monthly plan.

THis is why this AI hopium is garbage. The 2000s business practices were different but arguably not as bad as it is today and that is a key role why these technologies were successful. I look at Apples Vision shit pro and them behaving as if its still 2006, success is not earned but guaranteed, just build some high profile “premium” garbage and people will eat it up… not.

  • I said first strike, to clarify, in the current context if the US does something against the leadership. I don`t believe there is any such thing as showing strength against Russia, directly in this case. What is that B-2 supposed to do, bomb some Russian peasant in Kamchatka? Its pretty much the only real threat, a real bad day for some random bear in Siberia. Posturing like this is meaningless when the first step towards escalation is already a direct war, its why this is not a show of strength at all IMO at least the Russians will never care about it.

Unless we assume the US can get away with fucking the Russian leadership and in response Russia just sits there doing nothing. Its all back to the red lines talk, this is one of them the US can’t cross therefore showing strength is pointless, both sides already know each others capabilities.

  • Pretty mild for a show of force, I mean how long would an Oreshinik take to hit this base, like 5 minutes or something? All this does is to let Russia know exactly when and where to hit to do the most damage on a first strike…

I think its more signaling to Americans and westerners than to Russia honestly, pretty Trump style, always the least effort to hoping to amplify it to something majestic or great. I think this is another attempt at him getting his big win and going back to his root trying to pass himself as some grand negotiator.

You can already hear the Trump voice “I got Putin to come to us, nobody elseeee did it, not even Joe did… He came and signed a beautiful deal, the greatest deal…”
