Privacy@lemmy.ml•How can I avoid proprietary software on school & company computers?
2·3 days agoso i have did more horrible things, when i was in school, so i just tried to flash gentoo near windows 7 on fu**ing leagcy hardwareduring a lesson called “informatichs” just for fun, when i did that i have weak linux terminal experience and forget about first to shrink fs then the partition, and their fat partition is unresponsive and they have spftware for remote control on it, old laddies that who not even hear anything of pc start to scream at me, saying that if i not correct i’ll get right to the school “administrative red carpet”, but somehow i attached it back and get mark 2 of 10 at rest of the day, then i have no laptop even chip shit to bring by have no work and parents not spend on me except food and clothes, they leave me paper and pen and i wrote “programs” pascalABC on it)

Privacy@lemmy.ml•have you tried this simple technique to bypass censorship?
4·4 days agoboth xray and amneziawg selfhosted solutions are great enough to provide needed layer against new censorship mechanisms, i think you from russia, i have vpn for friends in this region, someone livee under white lists every day for 2 years, so we found a method to even resist “white lists” the trun proxy is great but still vulnerable to privacy, but work realy great, let’s kill their network together)
the good vpn is your vpn or from your trusted friends the much better when there are homelab solution than vps instead, so, sharing big thech links is not about privacy

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How can I avoid proprietary software on school & company computers?
91·6 days agojust ask them and bring your device, so i did same when i was student, yes this is a shame to introduce young people with bloated software, governments also have benefits from advertising microslop, adobe, google etc. software solutions, so you can still use vnc protocol or ssh protocols if they leave you no choice
i just feel myself much more safe now when i delete my github account a couple of years ago
i think they have good experience with their so own lo interface

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube's plan backfires, people are installing better ad blockersEnglish
1·14 days agoso the best option not to use chrome based web browsers that have aid youtube to avoid it, there are great experience in adblock using mozilla browser(or their forks like librewolf or icecat) and ublock origin, then we have full fdroid of clients for example newpipe with is based on invidous api that you can even host for yourself and friends, this free of any ads crap, when youtube decide to block their api then this will die yes, welcome to peertube😜
appreciate it but just not write full reply, i thought: yes this feature is great but they have more restrictions and always fight adblockers, yes this still understandable by this is biggest video sharing service
