  • again, I don’t mind calling it satire that wasn’t my point. It’s just very strange, for something that actually provides code that break AGPL and “ironically” takes your money for it. It’s very strange. I saw the satirical elements aswell but i thought it to be some weird marketing ploy as stated in previous comments. That’s why I edited my og post and stated that it’s too good because it might as well be real in a literal and metaphorical sense.

  • I made an edit on this matter but yes it is indeed satire, apologies, however it’s still pretty strange how they did this…i agree with you though vibecoding and close sourcing your shit is just so useless. I can’t believe I fell for it but I’m relieved I’m not the only one, and again, despite what you said, how is this still technically satire if it works as intended? No matter how bad it is, the joke doesn’t land once you involve money and an actual product.

  • I am obviously not against reverse engineering, i don’t think you get the point I’m trying to make. It’s the intent, and just the complete disregard for free software under the guise of “satire”, which has been a staple in AI-centered circles(ooooo look we’re the villains and there’s nothing you plebians can do about it).

Technology is neutral, AI is neutral, the people who run it and build businesses around it to fuck people in the ass, however, are not.

  • I don’t disagree with you and that’s most likely what’s going to happen, however it’s more so the direction in which this is going which haunts the hell out of me. I’m not just “AI bashing” it’s just dystopian. Now we could play this off as just an edgelord CEO if, you know…there wasn’t any financial backing to this and genuine interest.

  • Is that your counter argument? Are you dense? A youtube link doesn’t inherently remove the evidence that’s present: it processes payments and generates code and as far as I can tell, does what it says it does. Now we can discuss how efficient it is or not, if it actually does exactly, to the letter, as advertised. My point remains the same, if this is the direction these AI bros wanna go in, they should be chased out of tech centered communities. Quite simple really.

  • This is one of the most overhyped technologies ever, it is literally just a more complicated algorithm as the ones found on Youtube or Instagram for content reccomendation or auto correct algorithms. We do not need this much compute power, the secret is in the money as usual. This is all just one giant scheme to generate as much revenu as possible for these companies, the fact that all these municipalities are falling for it is either laughable or scary. Even from a Macchievellian point of view, there’s nothjng long term about this. Once the bubble pops it’s over, all these data centers will be rendered useless or at the very least their capacity will not be fully exploited. All this so a few guys at the top can make a fuck ton of money. It’s pathetic.
