  • Office worker in government. Everyone around me is either an idiot/incompetent or doing all the work. Will get ‘rewarded’ with more work if I start asking for more.

At least you get to go home early if you want. I guarantee that 80% of office workers pretend to work all day because if we don’t then we are given more work/responsibilities without a pay increase, job title, any reward.

A lot of office work is ‘be ready to answer a question at anytime when someone walks up to your cube’. And to be fair, you are probably the only person who can answer that question since most people’s role is niche/specialized.

But honestly, pretty sure office workers/management want people in the office all hours of the days because they hate their home life, and use work as their only socialization.

  • I would not say people are coming more prudish, but rather policies are. Why? I assume because cash is king, and the best way to get cash is in advertising. Advertising has always been prudish since it needs to appeal to the masses.

Policy eventually influences/dictates culture. This is most obvious with the world ‘unalive’.

Another idea, is that we are becoming significantly more moral and have increase civil rights. How does this relate? Well, if you grew up in the 90s or 00s you know that being told you were gay was not a joking matter, but a serious claim that could make you a social pariah. Now calling someone ‘gay’ as an insult is not as socially acceptable, is that because we are more prude or more moral?

I think what a lot of people identify as ‘prude’ culture is just another perspective of an attempt at being more moral and inclusive.

  • When I was a child, I would lay awake at night, in retrospect it was anxiety and depression due to loneliness (only child, sheltered, private school with less than 10 kids).

What I did, without the knowledge or concept of anxiety and depression, was that I would let me thoughts run and I would use logic and reasoning to get through them.

“What if a kid makes fun of me for this and that?” “I would then do this”, and then I would play out every single possible situation in my head on what the most common, worst, and best outcomes were.

A decade of doing that helped me.

  • The solution is to have dynamic personalized tutorials.

Lets take Death Stranding 2 for example, since I think its played a lot by working adults.

Death Stranding has a lot of story, relationships, and game mechanics they slowly throw at you. But when you take a break for 1-3 months it can definitely be difficult to remember what you were doing and how to do it.

They already have tutorials in their VR system, but that just goes over the basics. It would be neat if the game took the metrics they collect on you, to teach you how to use your most common moves and such.

It would also be neat if they could have a mentor system where the tutorial would then teach you new mechanics you ignored if it would help you out immediately (totally optional of course).
