What was notable about Bundy Ranch is how gentle the police were even after they’d been shot at.
This wasn’t an issue of firepower, it was an issue of white nationalism. Police sympathized with the ranchers in a way they simply do not with anyone young, particularly of color.
Compare that to the FBI raiding the Waco compound or the US Marshalls going after Ruby Ridge. Police have no trouble showing up at your door with a tank. The only thing that protects you is ethnicity.
