Today’s game is some more Metal Gear Solid 3. And specifically the last entry. I spent all day playing a Fox Hound run today. Got up at 9 and just spent 12 hours perfecting the entire run. Whole thing came out around 2 hours and 40 minutes. Because of how I tried to perfect it. With 9/20 injuries and 4 health segments lost.

The biggest challenge was The Pain. His arena didn’t have a lot of wiggle room and I didn’t have much ammo it grenades to knock away the bees. Thankfully it went by a whole lot quicker once I remembered the grenade camo and brown face camo. I hid under water and dodged grenades. Then came out, lobbed a few, and went back under. After that all the others were pretty easy. Though I had an issue with The Fear coming down and eating and recovering stamina. I wasn’t keeping an eye on time so I kept having to reload because I wasn’t afraid of going over the 5 hour limit.

The sorrow thankfully was easier after i realized I could stun the ghosts with a kick or a gun shot to save some of my precious health. Waded through there and got out in a few minutes.

After that I dealt with Volgin, and then came the real boss fight. The chase. It was hard getting through the chase segment because I was at the bare minimum health so a stray shot would take me out. I used the Cold War camo to at least keep enemies off my back and took them out. After 5 ish attempts I made it.

And with all that, I was done. I did The Boss’s fight, took her down pretty easily with a combo of QCC and AT Camo + Tranq Gun. Then got out of there and finished the run. After all that? I have to say it was an amazing challenge. It felt weirdly well balanced. I was expecting something on par with Halo 2 legendary. But it was closer to Halo CE. There were some challenges, but for the most part it was a fun battle. I feel pretty well accomplished

Thanks for the reply! I see what you mean especially about the nostalgia filter, it does conflicting things in my mind as well. It changes the color grading to approximate how the PS2 release depicted images, but because of the new rendering system, its not necessarily comporting with the new art direction that Delta goes with. But it still looks “fun,” even if it feels artificial sometimes.
