Unless it’s vented they’re quite bad for you. They banned them in schools about 15 years ago now because of it. Here’s a page from nsw health: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/factsheets/Pages/unflued-gas-heaters.aspx And from Victoria health https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/gas-heating-health-and-safety-issues They’re just not worth the risk, particularly because reverse cycle aircon is cheaper to run.
