Hazel doesn't close tabs because it's 'like a trip down memory lane.' Mozilla says it has some profile and tab group features coming later this year that might help her organize those memories.

You can use Tab Center Reborn & OneTab for a much better tab hoarding experience.

  I can’t deal with vertical tabs, I use tab manager plus in full tab plus list view.
  
  Unfortunately, the addon is abandonned
