“Alien: Romulus” takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

Not saying it’s going to be bad but what’s the point of this movie, or any other new Alien movie for much as I love the franchise. We know the drill, an alien killing a crew one by one until the last one kills the alien, why going over this all over again?

This looks like nostalgia bait for the original. Reminds me a little of the new Star Wars films. I’ll still see it though since I’m a big fan of the franchise.

My reaction was “Yup, looks like an Alien movie.” It has all the Alien things I remember. Look a pulse rifle! I bet those corporate clowns messed up again!

I don’t know where Alien could or should go. The concept of Prometheus was actually very interesting, but the execution was so flawed that it overwhelmed some of the good ideas. Maybe, Alien should go more into the future and show earth, the xenomoroph invasion, the xenomorph home planet, or maybe (with a talented team) properly bring predators into the Alien franchise without being a stupid gimmick AVP movie.

Nothing really stands out. Looks like just more Aliens. I liked Evil Dead 2013, so I’ll hold my judgement.

I welcome some good old aliens, instead of the AvP or Prometheus junk. We haven’t had a decent alien film since '92, that’s 32 years!

I have never seen Alien 3 or the 4th one whatever it was called, but I feel like I’m in the minority group that really enjoyed Prometheus and Covenant (could be because my head-canon is that the only canonical movie is the first) so I’m excited for this

I would be interested to hear your opinion on 3 if you watch it. It is very divisive and I never liked it but it has some serious fans. Directed by David Fincher so it has a strong vision, even if it’s not quite the one I was looking for.
