I just played Diablo IV for about 2 hours with my friend. We’re a party of 2 and we’re playing on the harder of the two unlocked difficulties. Is it just me, or is this game really easy? I feel like I’m just running past enemies or left-clicking until everyone is dead. Is this normal or are there settings I can adjust to make this game more challenging?
Its your first time through, wait until you unlock higher difficulties
Do you unlock them once you beat the game?
yep you unlock level 3 after completing the campaign and others through various means
That’s a big time commitment for someone who works full-time. I don’t want to play a full campaign before I get to enjoy the game :/
It’s an ARPG. They are meant to be grindy. You are going to get level capped at 50 so try to finish the campaign around that time. There is new content right after beating the campaign like Helltides. I find these fun and the mystery chests can drop some decent gear.
Edit: the game isn’t meant to be rushed. In Endless you can take all the time you want. Play what your time allows. Seasons will be a different issue but skipping means you’ll miss out on some achievements, some skins and maybe extra stash tabs. We’ll see - they may end up selling some of this in the store. As long as it isn’t pay to win and people with limited time can skip ahead on QoL (extra stash, cosmetics), I’m fine with it.
For me the game never got more difficult untill I started doing Nightmare Dungeons in Tier 4. The problem with this is that the entire overworld just feels pointless, there is no challenge in it.
That said it is early days and I’m not going to write off the game yet, it’s an ok start but alot of the core needs some serious work to keep me playing
I completed the campaign without looking at any builds, just winging it, and although I agree it felt easy-ish it was enjoyable. There were still a few point that were challenging, like act 2 boss that messed me up several times.
I feel the same way. Haven’t gone through the entire story yet but just got to 50. I tried multiplayer with a friend and just ended up missing cutscenes so I gave up on that too.
Hoping it gets better later on.
How hard should a game be in the first 2 hours? Also are you following any guides? I don’t think the game is meant to be hard aside from a few bosses, through the campaign.
