I always laugh at the serving suggestion on like leggo’s tortellini, ravioli extra. Serves 4 apparently. I assume that is children and not a grown-arse man

Oh yeah. The suggested serving sizes of dim sims or whatever it is.

I feel bad when I eat 6 times the suggested serving size.

As if I’m going to stop at one hash brown!

Lmao howling at the comment I just read under an actor interview that said “she just does it for the money”. My guy I hate to break it to you but everyone needs to be able to pay the bills, no ones rocking up for anything that time consuming just because.

      Will do though nothing fancy.

Home brand cheese corn chips, bottle of homebrand orange drink and my bargain of the day, a 700g of smoked ham for $2.80.

I went crazy and ate about 1/2 of the ham already.

I’ve got a whole pizza as well in the fridge ready for game time.

      chips and drink

I had a bowl of air fried cooked brown rice. One half desert spoon of olive oil and half a teaspoon of vege real gourmet stock with about a cup of cooked brown rice. Ten minutes air fry, its crunchy and tasty like potato chips, but cos brown rice / olive oil, super healthy. For game snacks its rice cakes and promite. I’m keen on keeping this figure.

I think I might have a drink tonight while watching the game. The question is do I sink a couple of beers, g&ts or pull out the big guns and make margaritas? Big choices.

My house mate and I drank a carton of beer one morning watching a world cup game. Every yellow or red card or goal was a full beer down. So yeah, 12 of them. I have no recollection of who played or the score but there were a lot of professional fouls. I staggered to bed at about 10am. Fucken ell. Almost feel hungover just remembering.

I swear to God the gardener at work gets some weird satisfaction revving his petrol leaf blower. It’s the most annoying, infuriating sound that makes me want to go all Liam Neeson on his ass.

Probably similar to people who like the rev their cars to feel the power.

Pretty annoying as leaf blowers are super loud.

Trying to look up rules of soccer so I can watch the Matildas with some semi understanding, other than put ball into goals, don’t use hands. Apparently the whole world knows how to play except for me and it’s hard to find a basic video. Doesn’t matter, will be cheering anyway.

Soxcat has been sadly quarantined to the study and bathroom (with all electronics removed as she has once almost sprayed on a laptop…) No comfy couches or the bedroom for her lest she pee on things that are significantly harder to clean. Left out a heated mat for her on low heat for 8 hours though.

Poor girl, she seems to have lost weight - she’s so light! And she snoozed on my lap for over an hour and it hasn’t even been 12 hours since she arrived - that’s record time - but I think it’s because she’s being all hormonal and affectionate.

So in preparation for the Matildas match tonight I’ve decided i might splurge a little on some comfort/junk food tonight.

I’m thinking maybe chips and a bottle of soft drink for tonight. It was also suggested that maybe I do a hot chocolate as well.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, preferably not too expensive.

Seconding soda water + cordial. Soda water bottles are under a dollar, and Bickfords cordial lasts ages.

Open the soda water bottle and drink a little bit of it, to make room, then add the cordial to the bottle. Voila!

Healthier too I reckon, as it’s mostly angry water with a bit of flavour and sugar lol but honestly, a bottle of Coke is unbeatable.

Treat yourself, friend, you deserve it!!

I’ll have to have a look at that and see how it goes. In truth I am saving for something next month where i’ll be able to treat myself to something a little bit more substantial.

Been doing occasionally the homebrand/Aldi fizzy drinks as well so they’re good enough for me.

Hot dogs. Get them from the deli section at the supermarket. Get the rolls from the bakery. Cheap as. Or just get cocktail franks.

Soda water and cordials often cheaper. Soda water by itself is actually pretty good too! But the Aldi cola is not a bad substitute for real coke.

I’ll have a look and see how the combo works, never done soda water and cordial and might be a good one if I can get cordial that I like.

Yup, I don’t mind the aldi versions of the fizzy drinks either.

I’m partial to the Aldi Westcliff Fruit Cocktail cordial. I add a bit to the glass, then add the soda water.

Depending on how much cordial you put in, it goes from tasting like those mineral waters with 5% juice (my preference) all the way up to a full blown Passiona.

NB: I don’t like the Aldi Raspberry Apple or Lemon cordial. For lemon (like a lemon squash), I like the Diet Rite Lemon with soda. Diet Rite Lemon, Lime & Orange is good too.

I think those cordials are about $3.50 a bottle, though. So if you just want a couple of bottles to drink for one night, you’re better off picking a couple of bottles of the homebrand fizzies. Eg WW Diet Orange & Passionfruit is $1.10, and the same price as a bottle of soda water. I haven’t had it, but it probably tastes about the same anyways.

I also didn’t mind the Woolies Diet Ginger Ale $1.10/bottle, but haven’t had that for quite a while. Lime goes well with it, but the real limes are often expensive. You can pick up a bottle of Lime Juice for $1 and give it a little squirt to add some more flavour.

For some reason I keep missing the cordials at Aldi, I’ll really need to remember for the next time I’m there to see what they have.

Lots of nice cordials around. Buderim ginger cordial. There are fancy schmancy elderflower cordials too. The Bickfords range is huge. My all time favorite is the Bickfords Lemon Lime & Bitters. I used to be a fan of Schweppes Lime cordial but I don’t like the taste now - too fake sweetener and nothing like what it used to be 20 years ago.
You can make your own cordial by blitzing up a punnet of raspberries or blueberries with their own weight in water plus half to one third their weight in sugar (or a bit less), mix in a teaspoon of citric and/or tartaric acid. Bottle and keep in the fridge for up to a week. If it ferments, you now have alcoholic cordial … Or go to YT for a recipie for raspberry shrub which is a vinegar based cordial and very nice indeed and possibly quite healthy. PS. Grenadine is a fancy very sweet pomegranate cordial. Kinda gluey, but essential for a proper tequila sunrise.

Everything came up milhouse at the gp today. I’m healthy af, ideal weight, hormone levels are exactly where they should be and my bp and ecg are so bloody normal I feel basic.

If the matlidas win and I have a nice walk along the beach in the sun it’ll be perfect. Wish the game didn’t start at 8pm though, there’s no way I’ll stay up for the whole thing.

What to eat for the game though? I think the usual rice cakes marg and low salt vegemite will do fine. Staying away from processed foods, sugar and booze are obviously doing wonders for me. After the total glum and transphobia of last week, I feel positively fucking on fire. Thanks Milho
