Neutral, non-american here… And i do believe that trump needs to be defeated but…

Why is it when republicans raise millions people say “politics is corrupted by money!!”

But when the dems rake in $300M its framed as a good thing?

Because when the Republicans get their 300 million, it’s from, like, eight guys who “don’t coordinate with the campaign” but almost always have the same messaging, but when the Dems get that money the average donation is like 30 bucks because that many people supported the candidate.

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a GOP candidate who’s not Trump but Trump has received a lot of donations with sub-$500 averages before

I’d argue we shouldn’t be celebrating money in politics period. And let’s be real none of those ppl donating $30 will ever have any say politically. But the celebrities or Mega corporation CEOs who donate $5 million will have direct access to the future president. That is a problem.

It’s the average $ per donation that’s important. Republicans tend to get larger amounts of money from fewer sources. This may indicate that they’re supported by wealthy individuals and corporations.

      Money buys influence
