The good news is that, between the XMen and Fantastic Four, Marvel doesn’t need the Avengers to be the centerpiece of the cinematic universe anymore. As long as they make good movies with good writing and good productions, they will make money hand over fist.
I would love to see a whole series of Young Avengers movies that don’t act as a crossover event, but rather explore the relationships and tribulations of being young superheroes. In fact, if I were writing it, I’d set the movies during the Secret Wars when all of the major superheroes and villains have mysteriously vanished. So Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, Riri, Stature, Patriot, Kid Loki, Love, Wiccan, Speed, Skar (if we don’t get a Hulkling by then), maybe Phyla, all dealing with what everyone assumes is another Snap.
I loved the Ms. Marvel tv show, but the marvels movie wasn’t fantastic. Kamala was still a bright spot there, and actually all the characters worked, but the writing just didn’t do it for me.
America Chavez, too, worked for me as a character but that movie was terrible. I hope Marvel can figure out how to right this ship, as right now the only superhero content I’m looking forward to is spiderverse 3.
Is spiderverse 3 deff being made last I heard it was in trouble because or the writers strike. Some deadline or other coming up at the time
It was only delayed by the writers strike AFAIK. I would be super disappointed if it was killed, I adore the first two.
The Cap 4 trailers are hype, Daredevil: Born Again looks fantastic and if you saw the leaked trailer for Thunderbolts*, it looks like it’ll be pretty good too.
But I just don’t know if Disney is going to pair these Young Avengers with writers who will do them justice.
