I enjoy collecting pins mostly, here is the current state of my pinboard. Mostly coaster related, and the non coaster ones will probably have to soon be relegated to a secondary one!

Not a roller coaster superfan like you, but I thought I’d say those are really cool! I love enameled pins like those. I think they’re great souvenirs - they don’t take up much space and the more you have the better the display!

You really have me wondering about a drawer somewhere full of all the backs to them.

Yeah the compactness plus the variety of designs/colors makes for a great display! I do have bags full of the pin backs sitting in a drawer and hope I never lose them.

Park maps are priority one. I’ve got a workbench area that has all my ski and theme park maps. I’ll buy a shirt if I find one that isn’t awful. I always look but probably only buy one every third park I go to. And then always get a pic of me and whoever I was on the trip with.

That’s awesome! It somehow never occurred to me to keep the park maps, but that makes so much sense as a collection and they already look great on your wall.

My problem is I think about it but never execute it lol… It’s so hard to get them home for me without creasing them.

I love pins and magnets because they don’t take up much space. Shirts are fun but the sizing is all over the place for me.

Sizing, and huge variances in quality as well. I usually buy shirts when I go to concerts but you never know how long it’s going to hold up for. Also amusement park/roller coaster shirts tend to have ugly designs IMO.

They are starting to become really popular as more and more parks are embracing pin trading.

      • What do people mean when they say pin trading? Like I get the concept but I’ve never seen it happen in real life. And why do people trade their pins? If I buy a pin I intend to keep it, why would I want somebody else’s? Maybe this all makes more sense in the context of Disney, which seems to be the point of gravity for the pin YouTubers. I have zero Disney pins.

I’m not really in to it myself but it is something that started at Disney but now is rapidly spreading in other chains and parks. What I gather is it’s a challenge of collecting certain pins that are limited edition… Many times certain pins are only released to employees so people who want that specific pin will need to trade it with them for something else. I’ve been with friends who have bought a pin solely on the basis that it would be a good pin to trade up for something else.

I like to get nanocoasters when I see them in parks. My rule is I have to have ridden the coaster to get the model.

Mainly shirts and magnets for me… Occasionally other things if there’s something really cool or I really like the coaster.

Off the top of my head it’s hard to narrow it down. I really like nearly all of the Knoebels shirts I have because they are always such great designs. I also have a Kings Island shirt that contains the coasters all formatted like an 8-bit video game… And one shirt I do really like is a Volcano shirt that says “It"s hot up here” that I wish I could buy a new one of since I now trend toward XL instead of L 😂

I’ll add pictures here later if I get a chance (and don’t forget, lol)
