There are games with resal time and tile-based movement (Age of Empires 1, Warcraft 1), but all those I remember are not single character (à la roguelike).

Do you know any game in which you control a single character that has real-time and tile-based movement?

EDIT: I found one example: Real Time Chess https://www.kfchess.com/

Thanks!

There’s Legend of Grimrock. It’s real time, tile based first person dungeon crawler. You have a party of four though, crammed into one tile.

Crypt of the Necrodancer and its spinoffs are great single character games if you don’t mind rhythm games

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead has an optional semi-realtime mode where enemies take a turn every few seconds if you do nothing, but I believe taking your own turns advances the turn count as usual, so it is really just a sort of (very short) turn timer.

They mentioned real-time movement. Disgaea is turn based last I checked. Though I can’t imagine a game that uses real-time movement and that is also gird based as they kinda go against each other design wise.

Wait, I might just be thinking of the Ultimate Unlosing Ranger. Tho I suppose it’s turn-based in the sense that your actions all come from a pool, but iirc it’s more similar to Crypt of the Necrodancer or the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games.
