I have a meeting this morning that is pretty much doomed from the outset, but I still need to go through the motions.
After that, I acquired an unexpected gazebo yesterday, so I would like to get that up this evening to make the most of the next couple couple of weeks, since we are seemingly due for sunny weather.
And then I have a day booked off on Friday just because. Maybe I will spend it in the gazebo, reading.
Customer is throwing us a party on Thursday and on Friday LotR concert. :D
What concert is that? Know if there are still any tickets left?

All sold out :(
My Linux box has finally arrived! I did my first sudo last Friday. I got as far as installing ublock origin on Firefox and WINE before I got lazy and called it a day.
The plan this Wednesday is to get all my art software working on WINE and getting all my files transferred over from my netbook. We’ll see if the laziness wins.
But it’s amazing how fast this PC is compared to my crusty old netbook, even though it’s a hand me down.
Embrace the penguin. I don’t need art software, but I made the move ~2006/2007 and never looked back. I believe Ubuntu Studio edition has quite a few packages pre-installed for that stuff.
Three days of work then Thurs/Fri off to binge Starfield as I’m a skin flint who refused to pay more of early access last week.
Really late reply to this thread, but that’s because what I was doing yesterday was an actual full day of actual work 😮
So I am clawing my way out of a post-holiday funk, and it’s taken longer than usual because it was a REALLY good holiday. But as of this week I’m feeling motivated to pull myself together. Been getting dressed, going outside for walks, and yes doing my actual work which is very useful when you’re self-employed.
Biggest thing this week though is the start of the NFL season on Thursday, and therefore the kicking off of week 1 matchups in the fantasy football league I run. We have two more teams joined this year so it’s been a lot of extra admin, but that’s two more willing targets of my incessant trash talk so should be a lot of fun 😄
I’ve spent 8 months trying to figure out what happened to my knee when I smashed it into the edge of my car door and I finally got an appointment with an orthopaedic specialist this week, but it’s a physio appointment. I already saw a physio therapist about it 6 months ago and they couldn’t figure it out so I’ve gotta call the specialist department today and try to get an MRI or something because the X-ray showed nothing and it’s sounding more and more like a torn ACL.
Thu and Fri off, got my 'rents visiting so we’re off to the races and the weather is looking very nice!
Oppenheimer on Imax this Wednesday, parties on Friday and Saturday.
Oh, I saw it at the IMAX, you’re in for a treat.
Kids gone back to school today so enjoying the peace and quiet while working from home. Might play some Valheim with a friend tonight, definitely playing some Starfield tomorrow!
Other than that, quiet week, going to football on Saturday.
Friday gazeebook sounds amazing. Reading anything good?
I’d hope to finish Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Children of Time if that’s what I decide on. I’m about half way though now and won’t have a lot of time to read more before then.
I just DNF’d that, but I think it was because I was listening to the audiobook; it’s to be read rather than listened to I reckon
I was hooked on Children of Time, didn’t finish Children of Ruin. Haven’t tried the third yet.
I can see that. I think that the worldbuilding of the Spider society benefits from a bit of thought at your own speed, rather than being propelled through at narration speed.
Evacuating my bowels from this weekend’s binge eating is my all encompassing priority right now.
I have this week off to recharge enjoy myself then my absolute tool of a housemate has asked me to look for somewhere else to live because I didn’t tell him to have a nice flight when he left for his holiday. So I’ll be spending this week looking for a new room.
