Honestly, at the time, I hadn’t interacted with Drag at all for months, and Drag had been banned from 196 by then anyway, and 196 was the vast majority of my Blahaj activity. For me, it was just that I didn’t feel comfortable staying in an instance that was going to hand out bans and remove comments to ensure the existence of dragons wasn’t questioned. I ‘got’ the underlying logic of it, but didn’t feel comfortable sticking around for an instance that was going to go to bat for someone who literally and verbatim repeated the old conservative “Attack Helicopter” canard.

That user literally said that you’re only offended by someone making that exact mockery of transgender people because you hate trans people.
Could you imagine someone in blackface saying people calling them out is racist? That you just hate people pretending to be black because you hate black people? It’s infuriating. And getting banned for saying blackface is bad? Even more infuriating.
And this dickhead spread dangerous misinformation about disorders that can literally ruin and end lives. But being against literal mockeries of marginalized groups makes you the problem.
