It claims its immigration policies are meant to maintain Western human rights and then it opposes LGBTQ+ rights.

The problem lies within the question. Nobody needs to justify anything. Politics is a fight to bend the public opinion of “right” and “wrong”. As such, even if something is plainly wrong, like this, it doesn’t matter. All they have to do is make enough vermin believe their story.
Or make enough people believe yours.
