We must make it easier for workers to join trade unions, grow the union movement and prevent corporations from violating labor laws with impunity by passing the PRO Act — legislation I will be introducing tomorrow.

Call your representative and both of your senators and let them know you expect their support of this legislation. Better yet, write. On paper. Longhand. It’s harder to ignore when you communicate like a boomer.

If you live in a red state and you think your legislators won’t listen to you because of your political affiliation, or if you live in a blue state but your legislators won’t listen because they are the sort of corpo nitwits who just voted with republicans to censure Al Green, remember: you can lie to them and pretend to be a member of a cohort they give a shit about.

Pretend to be a republican who is considering voting for democrats because of your support for this one piece of legislation.

They have no qualms about lying to you. Lie your ass off. They deserve at least that level of disrespect.

Oligarchs should be beaten. With some sort of guillotine-shaped club :)

They can’t be beaten by voting for blue oligarchs. He implies voting for the blue ones will get rid of the red ones.

do you even read? He’s arguing to remove all big money from politics red or blue… which part of that is “voting blue oligarchs”?

What amazes me is how consistently the only two people that argue on behalf of people get scoffed at. AOC and Bernie are the only hope of sanity US has… they really need their own party and “steal” all the voters from under Dems… but Bernie is spent, AOC is not ready for this heavy lift… while everyone is busy knocking them both down. good job, keep at it.

he does not. He’s arguing for collective action, once that is on the table blue or red will have to answer to demands of the many. So, no, he’s not asking to vote blue, he’s asking to grab pitchforks… that guy is Independent and caucused with dems but he never shied away from lambasting Dems.

Right now, he’s not asking to vote blue because it’s not an election. He’ll be singing a different tune in about a year and a half

is there a party capable of carrying the election outside of the two? I can guarantee that if viable party was formed with progressive program he’d dump Dems… As it stands american electoral system forces him to support one of the two evils. For goodness sake they’ve torpedoed him twice now… so I don’t think it’s alegiance… it’s sheer pragmatism.

They didn’t torpedo him, he was a sheepdog from the get go. Every election since Reagan, the DNC has had a party sheepdog to keep disenfranchised voters herded up and contained in the party with the illusion that they will someday have a seat at the table.

erm… he bid for presidential chair twice, got torpedoed by Dems twice… he’s been punching above his weight all the way, considering he’s Independent and Dems have no obligation to listen to him at all, they have actually ended up following his lead as he was putting progressive items on agenda that others had to copy. For a single man he’s done a LOT. For a guy outside the party to get support that he’s got within the party is already an accomplishment.

EDIT: since mods removed the post I was replying to, I’m adding context - it was accusing the poster above from spreading misinformation.

        Clear as day.

How to tell: disinformation 101. It’s presenting an utter lie as a fact. This is easy to check, just give the article or even the summary a quick read, or better yet actually listen to what Bernie said.

Why is such a blatant lie effective? For most people here it won’t be effective. But if you’re already “preconditioned” by seeing these kind of baseless claims elsewhere, this will serve to defuse your critical judgement and “save you the work” of thinking it through.
