A lot of people don’t buy that inflation, or the economy, was the losing issue. I know the polling says otherwise but I also think back to the people saying it in focus groups before the election. The same people didn’t really seem to have any concept of what trump meant for the economy, or tariffs. I see it too with the fiscally conservative people. As soon as their guy is in office theyre all the sudden unconcerned. Maybe they aren’t individually but the people amplifying the message slink off never to be seen again until the next election.

My conclusion is the democrats fail with their messaging. They can’t take credit for the good they do because of in-fighting, lack of media presence, and I would guess years long attacks by corporations to drive wedges between leadership with donations and campaign funding.

Its much more of a vibes thing than a knowledge thing. Politics operates on the monkey brain level for most voters, “Eggs expensive, Biden president now, Trump business man, Change to trump” kind of thing.

They dont look into what the IRA did or was, how our inflation compares to the rest of the world, real wages vs inflation vs buying power, they dont go look at historical examples of tariffs, etc… Its just “Eggs were cheaper in 2019 than now, lets go back to that”

And I completely agree, Democrats are absolutely dog shit at getting their victories out there
