This is cool as hell but I’m mildly terrified of autonomous vehicles and choppers so I’ll stick to trains, bicycles, and walking if I ever make it to China, at least until we get a good idea of the long term safety record. (I’m just a bit paranoid, I’m sure that the party would shut these down in a snap if they turn out to be unsafe)
I tend to be leery about flying as well, so I can definitely relate there.
This is serious Jetsons level shit. Kinda makes you wonder…why haven’t we in the West already done this? Of course now that China is going there, we may start to see it here…in a decade or two. But would we have ever gotten there if not for China?
At this point, I think a more likely scenario is that the west will suffer a Soviet style collapse within a decade or two.

American companies first have to innovate the legal loopholes which prevent them from being liable when their half baked products kill a portion of the first adopters in a variety of freak accidents.
