We’ll keep it in a single sticky thread for now and see how it goes. Please don’t forget to indicate which model you used to take the photo! 😁
EDIT: Won’t be pushing Pixelfed anymore. As someone in the comments already said, it reduces the quality of your photos. And Lemmy.world isn’t a small instance anymore and should handle the photos so we’ll ignore the recommendation below, unless of course you don’t mind the lossy compression that’s being applied :-)
If you want a tiny bit of lossless compression before posting your photos, if you’re on Linux you could feed them to jpegoptim.
The following is of course not necessary, but if it’s not too complicated for you it might be preferable to host your photos on a Pixelfed instance if they are too large to help lessen the burden on the lemmy.world instance!
Basically, once you upload your image on a Pixelfed instance, you can embed your image here by right-clicking (or long tap if on your phone) on the Pixelfed pic, choosing “copy image link” (or opening it in a new tab and copying the URL if your mobile browser doesn’t show this), and then you paste the URL here inside an image tag like this:

A bee in a flower. Pixel 7 Pro
Sunrise at Monument Valley, taken on a Pixel 7 Pro
Few pictures from recent San Francisco / Yosemite trip
the neon lighting gave a cool result, what place is that?
At a restaurant called bistrotheque
Pixel 7, built-in camera app, motion mode long exposure. Taken on the forest psytrance festival “Слияние” on July 13th, techno stage with a smoke machine, backlit by couple of LED thingies and one laser thingie.
Here’s a small snippet of photos shot on the Pixel 7 Pro.
What did you use to edit the 4th one?
I chose 0.6x zoom and put my phone directly over my cat’s face at an angle. No further edits required.
Oops, I meant photo 3, the one of the woman
Old Trafford Cricket Stadium, Manchester
P6P, cropped and straightened in Snapseed, no other edits.Nice! Could be a banner for a cricket community 😉
Another one:
A performance by the Hungarian military band in front of the Saint Stephen’s Basilica, Budapest.
Shot with my Pixel 7a.
Flowering ginger. Pixel 7 Pro.
Nice shot! You can embed your image by right-clicking (or long tap if on your phone) on the Pixelfed pic, you choose “copy image link”, and then you paste it inside an image tag like this:

Awesome thanks.
I don’t see that option anymore to copy link 🤔
Just noticed that on a phone only Firefox allows you to copy the image link directly, on Chrome however you can tap “open image in new tab” and there you will have the link in the address bar of that tab.
Anyway sorry if this is complicated, you’re obviously not obliged to do this and this was just a recommendation to avoid hosting lots of images weighing lots of MB on lemmy.world, but you could also host the pics directly on this instance 😁
Here’s my go, I think it (p7) did pretty well:
Virginia Beach with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the background. Pixel 7.
Canary Wharf, London. Shot in Night Mode with my Pixel 7a and applied the suggested enhancements.
Good ol’ Pixel 5
Nice shots!
Thank you 🙏🏼❤️
