In the world of sleek product design, Apple’s Magic Mouse has long been praised for its minimalist beauty. But when it comes to day-to-day use, even the head of Apple himself seems to favor function over form. In a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse, Tim Cook revealed that his desk setup includes a mouse that isn’t even made by Apple—and honestly, it’s hard to blame him.
I don’t care for a lot of their design choices. I don’t mind their mouse other than the price and the charger being on the damned bottom.
I don’t mind the V1 that took a AA battery. That and turn on right-click.
It’s still not the most comfortable thing int he world, but it’s at least on par with stuff like the logitech pebble.
I’m too used to the Magic Mouse’s gestures, and I’m really waiting for a better product. I was hoping for them to fix the design flaws by the switch to USB-C.
I want to like the Magic Mouse, but I just can’t. I don’t even mind the ergonomics and the charge port is a non issue imo, but the sensor is just awful. Using it with a high refresh rate monitor feels horrible.
I like it. Just move the charging port elsewhere and it’s perfectly fine. Maybe not for gaming but I don’t game on computer anyway.
I think it’s a point of pride at this juncture. Apple popularized the mouse with the original Mac. Ever since the release of the iMac in 1998, Apple has made some terrible mice.
Arguably the nicest mouse they ever made was the ADB Mouse II, the first mouse I ever owned (included with my Performa 5200CD):
Anything that puts style that far ahead of function pisses me off. I don’t mind a nice aesthetic or design as long as it doesn’t take away from the intended functionality of the item. Apple has different feelings about that ratio.

Yeah, I’m always super stoked when every android manufacturer is tripping over themselves to copy anything apple does instead of actually innovating. All the cool things that android once offered are now gone. My 1st smartphone was so much more functional and groundbreaking than anything I’ve had in the last like 10 years or so. So many cool things taken away.
Hey, your battery broke? Go buy another and pop it in without the need for a spudger and a heat gun and needing to say 50 hail Mary’s that you don’t break something trying to fix it. Want more storage? Go buy an SD card n pop it in. Want a remote for your tv, and like any and every device out there? We put an IR blaster in there so your phone is also a universal remote. Want to listen to headphones and charge your phone at the same time? No problem, there’s a headphone jack separate from the charging port. You can still use Bluetooth too if you’re not into the whole cable thing. So many cool features taken away in the name of making a slimmer, sleeker looking device.
I wish one manufacturer would buck these trends and go back to the OG designs and let me vote with my dollars on things I want in a phone. Instead, they all unilaterally chased apple and took all these features away, and now every phone is the same, and there’s no reason to bother upgrading unless yours breaks. Everything is boring thanks to Apple’s “innovation”.
I can change my battery. Sadly no headphone Jack though, but I can listen to music and charge my phone with a splitter. I have an SD card slot. No IR remote functionality, but that’s a feature I dont need and want to pay.

I’ve heard good things, but I’m US based, and the last time I looked it was not supported here. Apparently now it is, but it’s still very half assed and you can’t get the components for repair which was the whole point of that phone.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the tech savvy people at Apple didn’t use Apple products, it’s very hostile to the users.
No kidding. I once tried an Apple mouse, but it was so flat that it basically crippled my wrist.

When a got a job with a company that uses Mac laptops, I was given the option of an apple mouse or a Logitech. It was a very easy answer.
I use a track ball for my day to day use, but I own a Magic Mouse for travel because it is compact and holds a charge for a very long time.
A wired mouse can have power even longer!
Until it doesn’t and then becomes ewaste because it can be serviced. :(
I use the Magic Trackpad for everything but gaming. The gestures are a part of me now.
The MX series is great, if only Logitech didn’t skimp on quality. I like the MX Ergo, it’s nearly perfect, except that the buttons wear out in 2 years or so.
