If you haven’t heard, Donald Trump is planning a 4 mile military parade on his birthday. I think it would be a powerful statement if we could get a bunch of protesters to block the road for this parade. Show them that we will not bow to a dictator, and let them deal with the optics of arresting a bunch of peaceful protesters waving the American flag. Thoughts?

Others have mentioned the danger involved. Fear is understandable, but if you’re worried about getting gunned down by the military I’d say we’ve already lost.
If you’re not willing to stand up to them directly, we could always host a separate parade nearby and blow them out of the water as far as attendance goes.
Again, I’m advocating for 100% peaceful protest here. Any violence at all will basically guarantee a repeat of Tiananmen square. You don’t need to die for the cause, but we need to step outside of our comfort zone

He wants that so bad. He wants protests to turn violent so he can declare martial law. I’m not saying not to obstruct, I’m saying battles need to be chosen wisely. That parade will be lined with MAGA, who are more than happy to start the violence then spout off about those violent antifa libs.
Although, that would be epic as fuck and the world will be watching.

The sad part is that even if protesting next to the parade doesn’t end up as Tiananmen Square 2025, they’re still going to twist it to their advantage.
Trump and the media are absolutely going to count the number of protesters as part of the parade turnout, then report on that number to make it seem like he has tremendous support from the public.
We should protest in every capitol except DC. He’ll be deprived of an audience, which he hates. And when we show up in 49 different places it makes it harder for counter-protesters to have any effect.
