- Several councillors, including those suspended or resigning, have been linked to controversial online activity, with evidence primarily sourced from the counter-extremism group Hope Not Hate.
They’ve already followed in The Orange Menace’s footsteps by banning anything but the Union Flag, St George’s Cross, and county flags being flown at the council buildings they control. Presumably mostly to stamp out Pride flags.
In the US, the rule doesn’t apply on “special occasions” – Bonners Ferry in Idaho passed a resolution stating that every day is a special occasion, so they could keep flying the Canadian flag as a sign of friendship. Salt Lake City, Utah and Boise, Idaho just changed their flags to incorporate the Pride flag. 😅
