Unfortunately some sections of the working class materially benefit from the subjugation of other sections of the proletariat. Labor movements in the imperial core have a history of ignoring the unique nature of oppression in the periphery because that extremely exploitative labor makes their lifestyle of overconsumption possible. This extends to that section of the imperial periphery that migrates to the core in order to find more acceptable waged labor but are still paid significantly reduced sums, overworked, and threatened by their immimgration status. Their labor feeds us and not only couldn’t we survive without them but the specific oppression related to their immigration status that allows for sharper forms of exploitation is what gives native proletariat the ability to eat labor intensive foor for cheap. Essentially, these people use racism to live at peace with their relationship to exploitative race relations that they benefit from. Its not because they are stupid or don’t understand, they don’t wish to understand or look.
