I’ve been diagnosed about 8 years ago and while I’d say I’m highly functional I don’t want to go on vyvanse again because the side effects are so strong. Anyone have any advice or want to share their experiences?

It really depends on how good your psychiatrist is. If they have a lot of knowledge on how the meds work and know the chemistry of why the dexamphetamines aren’t for you, they can absolutely steer you to a better solution. You should mention that vyvanse was a bad experience when you see your provider and give details of why. Good luck!

I haven’t tried any others but whenever I’m on it shit definitely works. However after a few months it stops working and the impact to my sleep and general anxiety makes me want to go off it again.

It is very, very likely that there is a better option for you. Just to name one: You could get methylphenidate (or even Vyvanse again) and use it only as needed. A lot can get done in 10 or 20 “power-days” per year, even when you just drag along for the rest of it.
