I don’t know that I would consider this high quality but I have found some scents from Lush that I really like.

I’ve enjoyed the MAC cosmetics I’ve tried, e.g. tinted lip balm.

For mascara “Better Than Sex” from Too Faced is pretty popular and I’ve enjoyed it myself, but I have been using up some Mineral Fusion mascara forever.

As an aside, I never end up buying mascara for myself because my partner always buys too many to try and gives me their rejects, and I tend to be so economical that even once the mascara dries out, I keep rehydrating it with sterile saline and so a single tube lasts me forever 😅

So admittedly my makeup needs are pretty minimal - I would actually love to have more time to do makeup for fun, to explore new looks and refine existing ones and so on.

Rotten Pumpkin by Simon’s Nest is my favorite perfume ever. It smells like fall, with notes of patchouli, cinnamon, and pumpkin.

It’s been my go-to fragrance for years, though I also like Wistful Hedges and Kitchen Witchery, by the same maker, Burberry London, although that’s tecnically a men’s fragrance, and Hattai Le Couvent, for what I can only describe as “Cinnabon stand at a mall.”

I mostly just buy drugstore makeup lol. When I do my goth look though, I really like Manic Panic products.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by most of Color Pop’s eye shadow palettes. I tend not to spend much money so I’m not sure about high end stuff.

I love indie makeup! A few suggestions for brands who have colorful palettes and whose formula I think it’s pretty good:

For fragrances, I hear good things about Replica but haven’t tried anything of theirs for myself. I’ve tried a bunch from Ellis Brooklyn and have really liked some of them (Scifi, Miami Nectar, Super Amber), but they’re not as long-lasting as I’d like, so I find that I need to reapply once or twice during the day. Some of their scents are really nice for layering (Super Amber and Marshmallows, for example). Nice thing about Ellis Brooklyn is that you get two free sample vials with each purchase. Other fragrance brands which seem to be pretty popular are Kayali (their Yum Pistachio Gelato is soooo good) and Phlur (I love their Mood Ring scent).

Thank you for these suggestions! The eyeshadows look so good. I have to get my hands on a few multichromes from Lethal and Clionadh!

I was intrigued about Sweet Almond Blossom, so I went and read the description. It says:

A fruity, floral, gourmand perfume. A blue sky natural high, all year round. A daydreamer’s fantasy. A fragrance for the enchanting, ethereal, sensuous and hypnotic.

Smells like… Mouth-watering natural pomelo and juicy passionfruit float over clouds of delicate apple blossom. Creamy vanilla, sandalwood, and nutty tonka bean are beautifully balanced with explosions of other-worldly crisp green matcha tea.

… none of those words are almond, which is a surprise. From the name, I’d imagined this would smell like a floral marzipan, but the description doesn’t sound like anything almond at all. Do you think it smells like almond? Because if yes, I’m intrigued to try it, but if no, I’ll skip it.

i have never smelled an almond blossom so i have no idea if it smells like them. I wouldn’t say it smells like almonds at all. It smells very sweet and almost flowery but doesn’t quite reach a flower smell.

There’s definitely something yummy/edible to it though when i rub my fingers where i sprayed and rub it across my nose it’s like i was handling cookie dough almost. or fruit?

It doesn’t smell grandma flowery it smells sweet and yummy flowery, if that makes any sense at all.
