Well state owned media is also definitely a thing. And it goes through corporations too. The state forms some lucrative ties with a corporation and convinces it to buy media establishment en masse, put them under a single umbrella and convert them to propaganda machines. The state is nowadays just another cover for some people to get extremely rich so it sort of puts everything in the same pot.
