Hi guys I’m from Libya, I’ve never been to Sweden, but I signed up for this cultural exchange app where you can talk with people from around the world.
I found myself getting along with Swedish/Norwegian people more than any nationality , I’m very talkative person, I talk a lot, if I meet someone I will tell them my entire life story and for the first time ever I found someone who actually listening with attention.
I’ve talked with many swedes and most of them beside being super nice they are all really good listeners, is that common among your country citizens ?
best regards to Swedish nation and Norwegian too <3

I could see that being true, I guess many of us don’t really like to talk about ourselves that much which leaves room for listening 😅
What’s the app called? It sounds fun!

Depends. Connecting trough a social app will get you in touch with likeminded people. Although most of us are polite and will listen when you talk, do not bring up the story of your life around strangers that you do not know. I will bet that a lot of people do not care.

They might be politely waiting for you to take your turn to be quiet and listen, before they start to talk.

what I meant by good listeners they ask me questions and seem listen to what I say, another thing we all are strangers on internet they can leave at any time no one is forcing them, plus I l always say I’m sorry I talked too much and I give chance
I’m self aware of me talking non stop so I do try to stop myself
but I just feel they don’t usually talk much

Nah you’re assuming that because you’re talking to people who specifically enrolled in an exchange program of sorts. A special breed of Swedes. For your own sanity, leave that mindset behind. We are notoriously asocial. You CAN find like-minded people but you’ll have to do what you’re doing right now. Enroll in different programs that align with your personality. You’ll almost never be at a bus stop and just have a fruitful conversation with a stranger

Swedes are polite and conflict-averse generally. If someone starts talking about their life in a war zone Swedes will listen attentively for a long time even if they think you are boring or annoying.
If you start going on about stuff without reading the room people will avoid you eventually.

There is not only such a thing as a good listeners, there’s also good talkers. You seem to just want a kind of ear-garbage bin, some one to just dump your blabber on. Are you really interested in having a conversation or just a monologue?

Depends. Very rare to make small talk in the city with strangers. In the country side, they are a lot friendlier but also a lot nosier. Younger generation seem to be better online at least.
