The economy of motion Kiko displays here is astounding. It reminds me to not just practice playing fast but to practice playing more efficiently.
This guy’s so good he could even be in Megadeth.

I recall in a recent interview where he said he’s actually a lefty. So when he started playing he had to very meticulously work on pick techniques as it didn’t come natural. So I believe that’s the result of as you said, tons of focused practice.
