    I exploded about this just today, but…

    Has there been any successful ‘major anti-imperialist intervention’ since WWII?

    It doesn’t even matter if it’s justified or not. How can tankies possibly think the Ukraine war will go well, given literally a century of precedent suggesting it will fail miserably?

    It’s already progressed worse than Afganistan. And if you’re wondering if I mean US or Soviet Afghanistan, the answer is yes.

    Whatever Kool-aid they’re drinking, I want a sip.

      Korea and the First Gulf War.

      Generally, though, imperialist invasions post-WW2 are more rare than they were. Both the US and the Soviets preferred to use local (and often unreliable) ideological allies over direct intervention in most cases during the Cold War.

      The original .ml posted meme? Tankies believe Russia is justified in invading Ukraine because the Ukraine government was overthrown by the US and they installed Nazis and Russia is “freeing” the Ukrainian people and stopping “US colonialism”.

      The meme is just a continuation of that saying that based on past US lies they’re lying about Ukraine not being “full of Nazis” or a “US controlled regime”
