The AI model seems to have significantly changed how the System character talks and it is becoming slightly annoying for me.
For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, “System” is a “character” in AI Character Chat that serves as a type of narrator or something like that (you can get it to talk by using /sys). In the character creation menu, you actually can change the name and PFP of the System character. I do this to add a “third” character in the chats for greater immersion. Before the change, it worked like a charm. But nowadays, it keeps saying stuff like “System Error” or “System Override” or basically anything with the word “System” in it. No, this is NOT an error, this is just what the AI is making the “System” character say. No matter what the name of the System is, the system character will still say stuff like that. It’s not THAT big of an issue however since I can just put “act like a character named (character name)” as the instruction in front of /sys so it acts more in line in how I want it to. But still, this is only a minor inconvenience.
I think Perchance should add a feature where you can edit the System character’s writing instructions or even give it a description.
That’s a weird one. The only times I’ve seen System in use was during chats with the Strict DM character in Ai Char Chat. It is used to run a (very broken) “PC inventory” script. I think it is supposed to have a specific purpose, it’s not just an extra character.
If /nar doesn’t cut it, you can always add another custom character to the chat. To my surprise they can actually retain some of their personalities when dropped into other character chats, but will need some more substantial lore written into their actual descriptions. They don’t really retain anything like a history or /mem or /sum when used in other character sessions.
Try using /nar instead of /sys, it might work because i’ve been using /nar for similar situations that you described using /sys, but i haven’t encountered anything like what you said.
Hope it works :)
If you’re wanting another character, why not just add another character? Make a character, then add them to the chat. Use System for system things.
