Does Elon Musk know that UK EU has laws that would prevent ownership of airlines by foreign entities? I know journalists at DW don’t.

Ah, my bad. I misremembered because they track indirect ownership via depositary receipts via various settlement systems including CREST in UK. For some reason I distinctly remember ticking that checkbox when configuring Ryanair shares into a system at a bank I was working at some years ago 😅

Doesn’t change much because EU has similar laws where airline ownership must remain in EU based companies.

“What Elon Musk knows about flights and drag would be zero … I frankly wouldn’t pay any attention to anything Elon Musk puts on that cesspit of his called X,” he said.

    O’Leary has a point.

This is the problem with wealth desparity. No one person should be able to casually buy large companies or buy up commodities market. This can completely happen now and doesn’t just because it hasn’t yet.

This is good because if there’s ever a surefire way to make a small fortune in the aviation industry it’s to start with a large one.
