In your opinion, as of january 2026, which are the best .22 semiautomatic fully DIY builds? simplest to build? most reliable and durable and accurate? most funny? I’m curious, I knew NaG and Null22, just discovered SY22, would like to know what is advised over the others and why
The EZ22 is the most simple DIY imo and a great build to start with.
I’m a fan of the dear22
Not fully diy.
Easiest should be the ez22 but i would take a bit more time and work and go for the re-hd22c. If we talk about handguns then the sy22 should be the most reliable from what ive heared. Im yet to build one but its not the easiest build, should fs have some experience.
hey, ive heard about the hd-22. What’s the difference to the re-hd22c?
Also is the re-hd22c really fully 3d printed? Im from not the US, so i dont hava access to parts kits
The baby barret is my favorite.
Cheap, easy, and reliable. I just run the solid printed bolts with no reinforcements. I recommend the full length model.
Its just a refined variant of the ez/hd22 platform.
What barrel are you using with the baby Barrett? Just got an rs22 barrel in but haven’t ordered reinforcements yet.
I’ve meant to for the last 3 weeks but every Saturday I’m about to checkout on send cut send and I get distracted on here looking for other projects that use metal reinforcements. Last week I ended up on 3d print freedom and spent all my money on an mp40kit and charging handle instead
I’m using Brownells liner. No reinforcement plates, just the printed bolt.
We’ll soon see. I’ve printed almost everything but the bipod, pistol grip and charging handle. the only non trivial thing i have to do at this point is shape the “striker” and add weight to the bolt although in all honesty the hardest part is going to be a locating my longer m3 assortment amongst all the clutter.
how did you close the bolt when youre done weighting it?
