As far as I’m aware, a person can crosspost on Lemmy very easily. There’s a copy button that lets them copy the entirety of the post content. Puts the body in quotes, preserves the alt text and title and links and the like, and all they have to do is change community and now it’s in another community.
Is this feature anywhere in PieFed? Is it missing by design, since we have feeds (and thus theoretically don’t have the need to do this, since we just make a feed of similar communities, and so for us crossposting just creates duplicate posts)? Asking because I’d like to crosspost some of my (both from this account and my other one @emotional_series7814@kbin.melroy.org) old relevant posts from !nicememes@sopuli.xyz into !nonpolitical_comics@piefed.social.
Of course, at the bottom of the post (desktop or mobile webUI) there is a two arrows circle, click on it and choose the community where you want to cross-post.
You need to open the post to see the icon.

I am not seeing that on either desktop or mobile.
If it’s relevant, I’m trying to crosspost an @emotional_series7814@kbin.melroy.org post, so technically not the same account.
IIRC, the crosspost button only shows up on link posts (like links to an article or something). I remember trying to add that to image posts in the past and ran into some kind of issue, but it’s been a while and I don’t remember exactly what the problem was. There is an open issue about this.
