Simply hold smartphone briefly at the checkout – the invoice amount has already been paid. That’s really handy. But how much data flows? With the classic digital payment methods, the data traces are more or less, but they are always there.
Taler, on the other hand, works like your real wallet: you lift money off your bank account and put the cash in. Then you can pay with your Taler Wallet until you have issued your digital cash. What and where you buy, however, remains just as private as if you were paying cash.
