for context im in my early 20s and in a decent material condition rn so getting the AA isnt the problem, it’s just deciding which to get

CW: mention of alcoholism

so a friend recommended bica and i was pretty much just about to get it until i saw in the warnings section (on this website: https://healor.com/bicalutamide_mtf) that it said “Do not use or use with caution if you drink heavily” and since i’m an alcoholic (and have been for quite a long time, tried to quit a few times but always started drinking again) i think that i probably shouldn’t go with it.

so since i’m probably not going to be doing bica because of the alcohol related warning, what type of AA would you people advise i get instead?

edit: also how bad could it be if i just went ahead with getting bica anyway, is it worth just trying that out despite the alcohol risk? because it seems to be the best for what i want out of hrt that isnt ludicrously expensive

edit 2: i got cryptoscammed out of $70 asking some reddit cryptobro who i thought was just so interested in helping me because he was a chaser or something for help setting up a crypto wallet, now i wont be starting hrt for another month or so :( i feel like such a dumb piece of shit

edit 3: a friend offered to help cover the cost of all the crypto i lost so like hell yeah, im gonna get E soon after all

Bica and alcoholism does not sound like a good mix. Bica is known to rarely cause liver issues, so while taking it, you want to reduce that chance as much as possible. Don’t take bica if you’re going to drink a lot, or have already damaged your liver.

Sorry you got scammed :( some people are awful, nice to see another UK trans though, I’m still a bit isolated here because I haven’t found/explored the queer spaces local to me.

Starting now or next month won’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things, either way you’re going to be taking steps towards you own happiness and betterment ❤️

I don’t know what matrix is, but I think I’d like that :). It’s not that I’m estranged from the local queer scene, I just know literally about it because I didn’t know I was queer 🤣 plus I’m really shy at meeting new people which doesn’t help

Cpa worked good but made me depressed and suicidal so i switched. Spiro worked fine but smells weird and you should avoid potassium iirc. Never took bica before i went on monotherapy.

Drink more water if you have to continue being an alcoholic. For every beer or “drink”'s worth of alcohol, try to drink like 8oz of plain water. You’ll be drunk as a fish and you can still enjoy your depression shakes, but also hydrated so your skin won’t be as shit, your brain won’t be as shriveled, and you’ll smell less bad. So if you want to down a fifth or something stupid, you have to mix it with 135oz of water to drink it. A lot of people’s health problems and age rates are from UV damage, malnourishment, and dehydration, and alcohol is a diuretic.

I know it’s kind of a chicken/egg sitch, but you should do everything you can to chase happiness and know yourself better before you expire. I think you deciding to transition is proof that you’re already doing that and you should believe in yourself rather than berate yourself for somebody else’s malice and choice to steal. I believe in you and know you can do it. Keep going, onwards and upwards.

I’m in a similar situation where I’m not interested in taking E drug because my grandma died of breast cancer immediately after taking E to treat her menopause.

So one of the warnings on E would be (as I imagine it): Do not take this drug if you are genetically predisposed to breast cancer.
