With the destruction of Junius Seven, the First Alliance-PLANT War officially started. ZAFT demonstrated remarkable force projection capability as they began to undertake offensive actions far away from the PLANT homeland. With the destruction of the space station, The Earth Alliance lost a vital bridgehead in space and suffered heavy casualties as the 1st and 2nd fleet were annihilated. However, it was a pyrrhic victory for ZAFT, as they also suffered heavy losses.
