Iran has been preaching death to Israel for decades. Israel has been waiting for American backing to fuck things up forever.
Way back when, Iran was a democracy and the most modern of Arab countries. The US worked to over throw that government for reasons I’m not clear on since I was like 6 at the time, but go read up on Iran-Contra.
I’m not saying the Iranian theocracy isn’t evil, they rank right up there w North Korea, however, there is no evidence what so ever they were close to making a nuclear weapon, especially after the US strikes last year.
So now, with Trump needing a good old “You can’t hold an election with a war going on!” war, and Israel sitting on 40 years worth of military blue balls, sprinkle in the lastest round of Epstein releases, and absolutely no effective checks an balances on US war power, and you have the perfect storm.
Back in the 50’s Iran had a puppet govt with the shaw of Iran kept in place because he let the west, BP specifically I think, keep pulling out oil, despite the public’s desire to see profits benefit Iran instead of BP. 1979’s revolution was the pendulum swinging back the other way.
In the end it all boils down to money and some groups thinking they deserve all the money while the folks who the money rightfully belongs, get none of it.

Vengeance? Nah. More like Bibi’s ambitions, GOP greed, and Trump’s desperate attempts to satisfy his ego and distract from his failures and faults (including but not exclusive to revelations from the Epstein files).
My guess is some people in the US are still butt hurt about the 79-80 revolution and the hostages. Those people may or may not work in three letter acronym government agencies
Revenge For not kissing trumps feet and signing a deal with Obama? But in the real world, trump does nothing unless someone bribes him to do it. So mostly this is about Israel bribes, insider trading on oil and shorting stocks.
