This court case could decide the future of press freedom — and police oversight — in Canada
Just disgusting, our national “police” (read: colonial para-military force) is an absolute disgrace. The RCMP should be abolished and replaced by a proper policing force with real civial control and oversight.
There might be good peolpe in the RCMP, but the organization is clearly rotten. More interested in circling the wagons to protect their public image through deciet and lies than actually protecting the public.
These cases where they are persecuting indigenous land defenders reveal who they really are.

That phrase is problematic as it indicates “defending property from indigenous attackers” when it was the other way around when the settler wagons encroached upon their lands.
That’s fair. I mean to reference their tendancy to deny and defend regardless of how egregious the action in question. They consider themselves above the law.
They really are the worst people. I know a few RCMP. They were all hitler admirers in their youth.
