As the disastrous recent Human Rights Tribunal ruling made clear, the bar to prove workplace discrimination is low.

To avoid penalties regarding any potential workpalce discrimination complaints, Throness quit the school board to say the following:

We need to suspend SOGI [Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity] province-wide until a examination is done on its impact, if any, on the perpetrator of the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge. There has been a pattern of similar events in the States, now followed in Canada. How much more evidence do we need? By analogy, if we had an advanced chemistry program and there was an explosion that took nine student lives, that program would be immediately suspended out of an ‘abundance of caution’ until the causes were established. Inexplicably, there is no abundance of caution when it comes to teaching about gender in BC. Suspend SOGI until a full public inquiry is complete.
